Roasting Transparency
Coffee from Europe. Freshly roasted. Transparently dated.
Torrefare brings freshly roasted coffee from carefully selected European roasters to coffee drinkers throughout the United States.
Our selection currently includes Saka Caffé from Naples, Italy, known for its traditional Neapolitan espresso, and Tanat from Paris, France, offering modern specialty coffee.
Full Coffee Transparency
We believe you should know when your coffee was roasted.
That's why the roast date is listed directly on every Torrefare coffee product page.
We don't believe “fresh coffee” should be an empty marketing phrase. The roast date gives you something concrete: information you can use.
Knowing when your coffee was roasted helps you understand where it is in its resting period and decide when you want to brew it.
You can see the date before you buy.
You can decide when to brew.
You can judge the coffee for yourself.
That's our approach to full coffee transparency.
See the roast date. Let the coffee rest. Brew it at its best.
Fresh Coffee, Regularly Imported
Freshness isn't simply something we talk about at Torrefare. It influences how we operate.
We import freshly roasted coffee weekly from our partner roasters in Europe, including Saka Caffé in Naples and Tanat in Paris.
Frequent shipments help keep our inventory rotating so that coffee does not spend unnecessary amounts of time sitting in storage.
Our goal is straightforward:
Move coffee from the roaster to your grinder as efficiently as possible.
Because when you're buying freshly roasted coffee, the journey between the roaster and your kitchen matters.
Why the Roast Date Matters
Freshly roasted coffee changes after roasting.
During roasting, carbon dioxide is produced and remains trapped inside the beans. After roasting, the coffee gradually releases that gas in a process known as degassing.
This is one reason coffee often benefits from resting before brewing.
The ideal resting period isn't identical for every coffee. Roast level, processing, bean characteristics, and brewing method all affect how the coffee develops.
That's why we provide the roast date rather than simply telling you that a coffee is “fresh.”
Freshly Roasted Coffee Should Come With Information
At Torrefare, we don't think freshness should require blind trust.
We want you to have the information to make your own decision.
Where was it roasted?
We tell you.
Who roasted it?
We tell you.
When was it roasted?
The roast date is listed on the product page.
How should you brew it?
Our Coffee Guide can help.
How long should you let it rest?
We explain that too.
That's what we mean by full coffee transparency.

on the coffee, its freshness, and the people who roasted it.
